Well at 4:01pm local time I locked in ‘Jordancarter’ as my facebook username which now means you can checkout my facebook profile at facebook.com/Jordancarter. I was checky and tried to get Jordan but it was taken, oh well I’m happy with what I got! What name did you pick?

At this very moment if I search for ‘jordan carter’ This site gets put 9th, so I’m on the first page.  That’s great, if someone is looking for a particular person then I would think they are willing to atleast look through all of page one on Google.

The reason I have so easily and quickly jumped up to the first page is because of using the Made From New Zealand widget which links back to every post I do that includes a person or company from Made From New Zealand.  <- Just like that.

So if you want to quickly boost your rank in Google and you talk about people or businesses in New Zealand then head on over to Made From New Zealand, sign up and add your blog.  Install the widget and get blogging!

I have setup this blog to create a single cohesive portfolio of my online presence.  I will provide a little bit of information about me and what I’m about.  I currently have a technical blog over at www.wetware.co.nz/blog which talks about iPhone Dev, Rails solutions and other web dev stuff.  Most people who know me have gone to that blog and not understood a word, so here I will speak only english and nothing too techy!

I decided to do this because I am not represented by my name Jordan Carter in Google.  If someone looks for me online, they pretty much can’t find me.  So here is my attempt to take over my name on Google. Wish me luck!  I think the best start was the domain jordancarter.co.nz.  There is a jordancarter.com but hey, can’t win em all.  What I have on my side is a little bit of SEO knowledge which I gain from my job at Made From New Zealand.  You can check out my profile Jordan Daniel Carter and see some videos which I am in.
